Creating Safe Spaces: Our Sex Worker Peer Support Group

Finding a safe and supportive community is vital for current and former sex workers, which is why our peer support group was established. We meet every week to connect, share experiences, and support one another in a welcoming environment. We aim to create a judgment-free zone where everyone feels comfortable and respected.

Meeting Details

Start Time: 7:00 PM

We understand the importance of having a little time to settle in, so we allow a 30-minute window for everyone to arrive, order coffee, snacks, or food, and mingle with others. This helps set a relaxed atmosphere before our discussion begins.

Discussion Time: 7:30 PM

Guidelines for Our Meetings

  1. Confidentiality: What is said here, stays here. We prioritize your privacy and confidentiality.
  2. Eligibility: Our group is open to current and former sex workers. This shared experience fosters a deeper understanding and connection among members.
  3. Peer Support: We are peers, not licensed professionals. While we provide emotional support, if you need professional therapy, we can direct you to Pineapple Support, a specialized service for sex workers.
  4. Participation: While we highly encourage everyone to participate, we understand that some may be shy. Your comfort is our priority.
  5. Respect: This is a judgment-free zone. Respect each other's stories and experiences.
  6. Communication: Please try not to interrupt one another. Everyone's voice deserves to be heard.

Why Join Us?

Our support group is more than just a place to talk; it's a community. Attending makes you part of a network that values safety, respect, and mutual support. We also use these meetings to vet attendees for sex worker-only events, ensuring a secure environment for all.

Joining our group provides a sense of belonging and understanding that can be hard to find elsewhere. We welcome you with open arms and look forward to supporting each other on this journey. Together, we can create a safe and empowering space for all.
